Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Student Account Coordinator performs a wide range of student and third-party accounting functions supporting Tseng College programs. Duties include processing refunds, withdrawals, enrollment changes, and appeals; reviewing and reconciling accounts; responding to inquiries; supporting sponsorship billing; and ensuring accurate, timely financial transactions and communications.

  • Performs general student accounting duties, including refund requests, withdrawals, and appeals for specific programs, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with established procedures.
  • Reviews accounts for accuracy and prepares audits for student and sponsorship accounts to support reliable billing, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Responds to student, Admissions, Registration and Client Services (ARC), and financial aid inquiries regarding student accounts through mail, phone, and in-person communication.
  • Performs sponsorship accounts receivable reconciliation, reviews sponsor checks, maintains financial guarantee documentation, and prepares invoices for sponsoring agencies.
  • Prepares manual charges and account adjustments as needed to support accurate account balances and timely payment processing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to three years of full-time, progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience that has provided the knowledge and abilities listed OR any equivalent combination of college education in a job-related field and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of student accounting principles, financial record-keeping practices, and third-party sponsorship processes, including refunds, withdrawals, enrollment changes, reconciliations, audits, invoicing, and account adjustments; ability to maintain accurate, complete, and compliant student and sponsor account records.
  • Skill in reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling financial data to ensure accuracy in student and sponsorship accounts; ability to process manual charges, adjustments, and system transactions while supporting reliable billing, reporting, and audit activities.
  • Skill in responding to student and campus partner inquiries through mail, phone, and in-person communication; ability to clearly explain account balances, deadlines, and financial requirements; and knowledge of student financial systems such as SOLAR to apply account protections and maintain required documentation.
  • Knowledge of financial systems operations and integrated business processes; skill in collaborating with Information Systems and Services staff on system integration, testing, and documentation; and ability to support system integrity, update user training materials, and adapt to system changes and evolving industry practices.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
  • Classification: 1741 / Accounting Technician II / 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4037- $4825 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4037- $5881 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
