Position:

The Department of Management at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Management at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate will teach courses in organizational behavior, management, and/or human resources management. The successful candidate will conduct programmatic research in organizational behavior, industrial/organizational psychology, or a closely related field. Specific research interests are open, but preference will be given to those pursuing research that aligns with the research interests of current full-time faculty members of the Department of Management and that provides opportunities for collaboration among faculty.

In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online and will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. Given CSUN’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and engagement in a diverse environment, the successful candidate will help the Department achieve equitable academic outcomes for all students through teaching, student mentorship, scholarship, and service.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Ph.D. in Management, Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a closely related field. The doctorate degree must be from a program(s) accredited by AACSB International or ABET (or an equivalent accreditation). The terminal degree must be awarded by the date of appointment.
  • Excellence in, or clear potential for, university-level in-person teaching and creating a student-centered learning environment.
  • Evidence of, or clear potential for, publishing original research in organizational behavior, industrial/organizational psychology, or a closely related field, in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of effective engagement or potential to engage with a diverse student body in and outside the classroom, which includes the use of culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students, inclusive approaches to mentoring, and facilitating student research.
  • Evidence of, or clear potential for, integrating AI and digital technologies in approaches to classroom instruction.
  • Evidence of, or clear potential for, contributing to supportive and collaborative work environments, including via collaborative research relationships with current faculty.
  • Potential to take on leadership roles in the Department, College, and University.
  • Evidence of, or clear potential for, securing funded work through contracts, grants, and self-supporting programs.
