Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Equipment Room Support provides equipment check-out/rental support, quality control, maintains inventory, assists with minor equipment repairs, and supports purchasing. Assists with the oversight and guidance of students working in the ARC, as well as providing instructional support for faculty and students. Works with other technical staff as needed to support CTVA production.
- Ensures equipment is in working order upon assembly, check-out, and return.
- Oversees assembly of all equipment rental orders, ensuring they are correct and complete.
- Assists in training student workers in all aspects of equipment room operations.
- Prepares equipment for faculty workshops, safety reviews, boot camps, and classroom demonstrations.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses any equipment issues, including cleaning, calibration, maintenance, formatting, and testing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to two years of experience providing instructional support services for a unit or discipline, acting as a student assistant, or in producing materials or supplies related to the discipline.
OR
- Equivalent to two years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the area to which assigned may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
OR
- Equivalent to four years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a related discipline may be substituted for the experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- General knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools used in the repair, maintenance, and installation of the common types of film and TV digital cameras, sound equipment, cinematic and lighting, and grip equipment and accessories. General knowledge of testing apparatus.
- Ability to use hand tools in repair, analysis, installation, or fabrication of equipment of the specialty to which assigned; ability to analyze equipment problems and determine necessary repairs; and ability to follow plans.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions; ability to keep simple work and inventory records; and ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position and ability to make arithmetic computations where required.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

- Classification: Instructional Support Technician / 1615 / 1
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4184- $4529 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4184 - $6096 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.
- This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
