Major Duties

Under general supervision, the STEAM Program Coordinator coordinates STEAM programming delivery, supports workshops and outreach, prepares materials, organizes schedules, and facilitates learning environments across campus and community sites, ensuring operational readiness, high-quality experiences, and alignment with institutional goals and student success initiatives overall program.

  • Coordinates and facilitates the implementation of Global HSI Equity Innovation Hub (EIH) STEAM student success programming delivered both on campus in the ATEC building, Next Gen Student Success Center, and off campus at K-12 schools, community-based organizations, and regional partner sites.
  • Coordinates logistics such as transporting materials, securing equipment, preparing mobile activity kits, and supporting onsite setup at schools and partner organizations for community outreach.
  • Provides full operational support for EIH-led workshops, outreach activations, parent/family engagement sessions and community events.
  • Sets up rooms, prepares technology and creative tools, manages participant check-in, and oversees transitions between sessions in Autodesk Technology Engagement Center.
  • Supports data collection and analyses quantitative and qualitative program data to assess participation, engagement, and impact.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
  • Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year for year basis.
  • Experience coordinating educational, outreach, or student success programming, preferably in STEAM, K–12, or community-based environments is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with students, staff, educators, or community partners in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment is a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in K–12, higher education, youth development, or community outreach settings.
  • Experience supporting STEAM, innovation, design, or technology-enhanced programming.
  • Experience providing guidance or coordination for student employees, peer mentors, or volunteers.
  • Familiarity with CSU system policies, campus procedures, or equity-based student success initiatives.
  • Bilingual proficiency 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of program coordination practices including scheduling, logistics, event preparation, and communication workflows.
  • Familiarity with supporting hands-on learning environments, technology-enabled instruction, or creative/innovation-oriented programming.
  • Knowledge of practices that support diverse, first-generation, and historically underserved student and family populations.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize work, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with K–12 students, families, educators, peer mentors, and community partners.
  • Competence with technology tools, including iPads, laptops, presentation equipment, and basic support for AR/VR, and work independently under general direction while exercising sound judgment within defined guidelines.
  • Commitment to equity-centered, culturally responsive educational practices aligned with the mission of the Global HSI Equity Innovation Hub.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
  • Classification: 1038 / Administrative Analyst Specialist/ Grade 2
  • The anticipated HIRING RATE is $ 5274 – $ 6303 per month, dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $ 5274- $ 7684 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
  • The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
