Major Duties

Under the general supervision of the Lead DPR Systems Analyst and the general supervision of the Assistant Registrar, the DPR Systems Analyst supports the accuracy and functionality of CSUN’s Degree Progress Report (DPR) and related academic planning systems by assisting with degree audit coding, curriculum updates, transfer credit evaluation, system testing, data validation, documentation, and issue resolution. The incumbent works with undergraduate major, minor, General Education, university, and degree requirements; researches transfer coursework and equivalencies; supports AA-T (Associate of Arts for Transfer)/AS-T (Associate of Science for Transfer), AP (Advanced Placement)/IB (International Baccalaureate)/CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), and military credit placement; and helps ensure degree audit and planning information remains accurate and reliable for students and advisors.

  • Assists with the analysis, coding, testing, and maintenance of undergraduate major, minor, General Education, university, and degree requirement rules in uAchieve Degree Audit and related planning systems.
  • Assists with coding curriculum changes, course number changes, transfer coursework, and approved course equivalencies.
  • Researches transfer catalogs, ASSIST, CollegeSource, and related resources to support accurate course placement and audit logic.
  • Assists with transfer-related DPR functions, including AA-T/AS-T coding for applicants and continuing students, AP/IB/CLEP and military credit placement, military credit placement, transfer substitution codes, and General Education updates.
  • Participates in testing and validation for uAchieve Degree Audit, uAchieve Planner, uAchieve Schedule Builder, and related system upgrades or enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.   

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of degree audit and academic curriculum processes, including undergraduate major, minor, General Education, university and degree requirements, transfer coursework, course equivalencies, and related academic policies and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze, code, test, and validate degree audit information with accuracy and attention to detail, including curriculum changes, transfer credit rules, degree requirements, and student academic records.
  • Skill in researching and interpreting academic and transfer information using resources such as transfer catalogs, ASSIST, CollegeSource, and related systems to support accurate course placement, articulation, and degree audit logic.
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve data and degree audit discrepancies by reviewing reports, troubleshooting issues, validating program accuracy, and supporting corrections that affect transfer credit, degree progress, and student audit outcomes.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • Classification: 1342 / Business Systems Analyst / 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RATE is $5787 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $5787 - $8430 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
