Major Duties

Under the general supervision of the Ticketing & Sales Operations Administrator and the Ticket Office Supervisor, the Customer Service Worker (Ticket Office) assists patrons in the sale of tickets to performances and events held at The Soraya, Plaza del Sol Performance Hall, and The Experimental Theatre at The Soraya. The incumbent provides the highest level of customer service by following Ticket Sales procedures and cash and credit card handling procedures, printing tickets, and assisting patrons with accessing their pre-purchased tickets on their computer and/or mobile devices. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Assists patrons at the Ticket Office window and over a multi-line phone system in the sale of tickets to performances and events held at The Soraya, Plaza del Sol Performance Hall, and The Experimental Theatre at The Soraya.
  • Performs outbound phone calls to Soraya members and single ticket purchasers.
  • Helps set up directional and wayfinding signage to help direct patrons to the Ticket Office and Will Call.
  • Researches artists performing at The Soraya and shares that information with patrons purchasing tickets to Soraya-presented performances.
  • Assists in maintaining and updating patron information in the ticketing system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR, AED and/or First Aid, and TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certifications are preferred. Bilingual is a plus.
  • Alpha/numeric data entry at 35 keystrokes per minute desirable.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of ticket office operations, including ticket sales procedures, cash and credit card handling, ticket printing, will call support, and patron account assistance.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills to assist patrons in person, over a multi-line phone system, and through outbound calls with professionalism, courtesy, and accuracy.
  • Ability to use ticketing systems and office tools to maintain and update patron information, complete basic administrative tasks, and support accurate recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced performing arts environment, support event-day setup needs, and share relevant artist or performance information with patrons.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • Classification: 0101 / Helper/Aid / 0
  • The anticipated HIRING RATE is $17.00 per hour. The salary range for this classification is: $16.90 - $25.36 per hour.
  • This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
  • The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
