Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Procurement & Contract Services Manager, incumbent will serve primarily as a specialized individual contributor providing day-to-day corporate procurement card program administration and performing a wide variety of administrative, operational, and technical duties requiring in-depth knowledge of complex policies, regulations, and procedures related to procurement and hospitality for the entire campus.

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation under FLSA). This position is benefits-eligible.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,879 per month - $7,488 per month 

Hiring Range: $3,879 per month - $4,500 per month, commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.  Partial telework schedule may be available, at management discretion, after a training period to be determined.

Department Information 

The University's Procurement & Contract Services Office provides the campus community with cost-efficient and effective services for all acquisitions and contracting needs.

To accomplish this, procedures have been established that provide departments with a smooth flow of incoming requisitions through the procurement cycle and delivery of supplies or services to the campus.

Minimum Qualifications 

Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Required Qualifications 

Experience:
1. Progressively responsible experience in procurement, accounts payable, contracting, travel, or other business
finance related fields.
2. Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in business administration,
finance or related field and/OR a combination of education and experience which provides the required
knowledge.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
3. Demonstrated knowledge of procurement, hospitality policies, corporate credit card programs, research and
statistical analysis, and financial reporting practices.
4. Verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information, provide clear direction, and
respond to questions from staff, faculty, peers, senior leadership, and others.
5. Listening, reading and comprehension skills to effectively interpret information from various sources to
develop full understanding of situations.
6. Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure assignments are completed accurately and on
time.
7. Demonstrated skills using standard office equipment; computers; software programs such as Microsoft Excel,
Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe; video conferencing tools (such as Zoom, Teams, Slack, Skype); and
enterprise financial systems (such as Jaggaer, Peoplesoft).
8. Accurate technical skills to enter, collect, research, track, analyze, and report data and information.
9. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide range of policies, laws and regulations to ensure financial
transactions are compliant.
11. Ability to follow direction, work independently, and make sound business decision within the position's scope
of authority.
12. Ability to multi-task, manage a high volume of work, and effectively adapt to change.
13. Ability to effectively present information, provide training, and respond to questions from faculty, staff, and
students.
14. Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and
constituents including faculty, students, staff, and members of the community.
 
Conditions of Employment
- Ability to pass a background check.
 
Preferred Qualifications 
15. Prior work experience in higher education, most preferably the CSU System.
16. Experience utilizing the CSU Common Financial System (CFS), PeopleSoft, Jaggaer, and/or Concur travel
system.
