Design Lecturer Faculty Job Ad.
The School of Design at San Francisco State University invites applications for part-time lecturer faculty position (non-tenure track) in for [Fall 25/Spring 26] term. Candidates holding a Ph.D. or MFA degree are preferred, but applicants with MA degrees and BFA degrees will be considered along with professional experience.
The School of Design is an inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and scholarship in Visual Communication Design, Industrial Design and Interactive Design. Our Bachelor of Science programs are dedicated to preparing our students for the contemporary design profession, teaching strategic user-focused design in all of our disciplines. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are involved with current technologies and contemporary methods. Faculty must effectively provide instruction to students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and racial/ethnic backgrounds.

Salary
Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 – $15,211 per month
Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
