| The purpose of this position is to be the University representative and provide outreach to prospective students who are veterans and academic advising, counseling, certification, and maintenance of academic records for continuing student veterans and veteran dependents. The incumbent is responsible for providing benefit and registration counseling to prospective admits who are veterans and dependents of veterans. The incumbent is also responsible for educational counseling and certification of veteran's educational plans as well as facilitating registration and enrollment for all veterans and dependents eligible for benefits. The incumbent is also responsible for staffing and coordinating services at the Veteran Services Center and providing support to VETS Corner. |

| Under general supervision, incumbents operate, maintain, repair and inspect heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and water systems and equipment; test, adjust, and calibrate boiler and air conditioning machinery and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or microprocessor control instruments; test and chemically treat boiler, condenser, and cooling tower water and water from other systems; maintain, inspect, diagnose and make emergency repairs to steam, natural gas, water, refrigerant, compressed air and vacuum systems; regularly use features of building automation systems to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in the HVAC systems while optimizing energy usage; monitor building automation systems data and adjust system accordingly; respond to service requests to adjust air flow, temperature and humidity balances for individual rooms, building areas or buildings; maintain swimming pools; maintain logs of maintenance and repairs using manual and computerized recordkeeping systems; and may instruct and lead semi-skilled or unskilled assistants. |

| Reporting to the Director of the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA), the Financial Aid Counselor counsels students and parents on federal, State and University financial aid policies and procedures, reviews student/parent documents with financial aid application to determine eligibility and award financial aid to qualified students; assumes responsibility for one or more specialized programs; reviews student/parent appeals and administers professional judgement on a case-by-case basis; and conducts financial aid workshops both on and off campus. |

Community Service Specialist - (Community Service Specialist) - University Police

| The Community Service Specialist serves as a visible security presence on the campus, and within its buildings as assigned, performs security services such as patrolling campus on foot, bike or vehicle to protect campus community and visitors, provides public safety support and assistance to campus police, enforces campus ordinances and parking regulations, and issues citations to violators. Incumbent also provides information to the University Police Department (UPD) regarding any unusual occurrences and/or activities on and around campus. |
