Facilities Maintenance Mechanic - Carpentry San José
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic, assigned to the Carpentry Shop within the Maintenance & Operations unit of Facilities Development & Operations, works independently or as a team member under the general supervision of the Facilities Project Supervisor. The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic performs the full range of skilled journey level carpentry and metalworking trades along with strong skills in other trade areas to perform a variety of skilled preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction and renovation work on building and infrastructure systems.
Facilities Maintenance Mechanic San José
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic in the Energy and Utilities unit works independently or as part of a team under the Utilities Operations Supervisor. This skilled generalist uses journey-level mechanical or plumbing skills, along with expertise in other trades, to perform preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction, and renovation on utility systems. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment for steam heating, chilled water, drainage, water distribution, and fire alarm/security networks to ensure a clean, safe campus. The mechanic also uses a computerized maintenance system for preventive tasks.
Jay D. Pinson Microfabrication Laboratory Manager San José
*This is a part-time (0.8 FTE) two-year temporary benefited position.* The Jay D. Pinson Microfabrication Laboratory Manager will support and enhance capabilities and user experience in the Microscale Process Engineering Laboratory (MPEL) in the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering at San José State University. The incumbent reports to the Dean of Engineering, and receives work lead direction from a multidisciplinary faculty user group (MPEL Steering Committee) to help ensure that the facility can effectively serve the needs of education and research that depend on hands-on microfabrication capabilities.
