| The Art and Design Department in the College of Liberal Arts at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking applications for a full-time, academic-year, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Art and Design in Ceramics to begin approximately August 12, 2027.
The successful candidate will teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced ceramics, special-topics courses, art theory & professional practice, and/or 3D and/or 4D design foundations. We seek an artist-educator with an active, research-based creative practice in ceramics that engages contemporary art discourses, including sculpture, installation, performance, sustainable materials, and other interdisciplinary approaches. |

| The Philosophy Department in the College of Liberal Arts at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, is seeking applications for a full-time, academic-year, tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin approximately August 12, 2027. Area of Specialization (AOS): Asian Philosophy. Teaching needs: GE courses teaching classical philosophical texts, Buddhism (as a Religious Studies course), Buddhist Philosophy, Chinese and East Asian Philosophy. The ideal candidate will have a combination of university-level teaching experience, and research potential. We are seeking applicants with an earned or nearly complete doctorate in philosophy, with demonstrable qualifications in Asian Philosophy. We prefer, but do not require, graduate training in Religious Studies. |
