- Multiple temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant positions available in Music. This position is part of a "pool" of student assistants, working in both day-to-day operations in the music department, and staffing of events Snider Recital Hall. Depending on experience/shifts desired, this can range from setting up of classrooms for rehearsals, to recording, streaming, and archiving of media from events.
- Days and hours vary through semesters.
- Position available on or after October 1, 2025 and ending on or before May 31, 2026. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Setting up and preparing classrooms in the music department for ensemble rehearsals and other classes.
- Event staffing, including setup/stagehand duties, ushering, box office sales, and upon qualification, supervision of events in Snider Recital Hall.
- Upon qualification, live sound reinforcement, lighting operation, and recording/streaming of audio and video for events in Snider Recital Hall.
- Upon qualification, post-production of audio and video from Snider Recital Hall for delivery to other departments and/or the music department archive.
- Assisting the department technician with management of the music department's equipment inventory and music library.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrates experience in customer service.
- Demonstrates experience with point-of-sale.
- Demonstrates experience with event staffing.
- Demonstrates familiarity with musical ensembles.
- Demonstrates experience in audio/video recording (if interested in that aspect of position).
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs, carry and position pieces of equipment.
- $16.50 - $17.50 per hour. Depending on the qualifications of the successful finalists.
