The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is at the forefront of innovation, collaboration, and digital transformation. Through our facilitation of the Digital Transformation Center (DTC), we foster partnerships among government, academic, and industry stakeholders to advance digital innovation and workforce development.

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Workforce Development Outreach Lead to foster relationships with academic institutions and non-profit organizations focused on workforce development. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience to create and implement training programs held at the DTC in collaboration with partner institutions and organizations, innovating ways to engage students actively in the learning process. They will facilitate connections between DTC member companies and academic institutions to identify internship, co-op, and student worker opportunities, matching student skill sets with industry needs. This role is pivotal in advancing technical skill sets, shaping the workforce of tomorrow, and driving impactful collaborations between academia and industry.

Key Responsibilities:
• Establish and nurture partnerships with academic institutions and non-profit organizations focused on workforce development to co-create and co-deliver training programs.
• Collaborate closely with partner institutions and organizations to engage students actively in the training programs, ensuring their participation and learning experience.
• Develop innovative strategies to connect students with the DTC, providing them with opportunities for hands-on learning, mentorship, and exposure to real-world challenges.
• Facilitate connections between DTC member companies and academic institutions to identify internship, co-op, and student worker opportunities, matching student skill sets with industry needs.
• Coordinate with DTC member companies to understand their workforce requirements and align training programs to develop the necessary skills among students and prospective interns.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Education, Business, Technology, etc.) plus six years of experience OR a Master’s degree plus five years of experience.
• Previous experience in workforce development, education, or related fields.
• Success building partnerships and implementing training programs.
• Experience working in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through on projects and initiatives.
• Willingness to engage with the community, host events, and meet with stakeholders.
• Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Well-connected in the academic environment with a strong network of contacts.
• Innovative and strategic thinker with the ability to see ideas through to fruition.
• Strong relationship builder with a knack for networking.
• Familiarity with the tenets of the Air Force’s Digital Transformation mission and how it relates to workforce development for both Air Force and Industry.
• Utilizing both traditional and non-traditional means of training to grow the workforce.
• Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
