This position will support advanced manufacturing programs for sustainment activities. The position will serve as the lab technician for the machining and additive manufacturing labs, including part post processing such as manual machining, 3, 4 and 5 axis milling, CNC lathe and wire EDM, equipment/lab maintenance, consumable and spare parts procurement, mentoring and leading younger or less skilled technicians, while adhering to lab and equipment guidelines. The successful candidate will understand machining and additive manufacturing techniques and provide guidance on design for manufacturability, equipment and part set up and part processing. The majority of work will support government customers, but some industry partners will be supported as well.
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 10 years of experience in conventional machining operations for metals (ie milling, turning, EDM etc...) Experience with operating numerical controlled equipment (4 and 5 axis and CNC Lathe) for complex geometries Experience with various CAD/CAM software packages Attention to detail Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
