Position Summary:

The University of Dayton, a top-tier Catholic research university, is seeking an exceptional Senior Administrative Assistant to join the College of Arts & Sciences. As a Senior Administrative Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the administrative operations of the department, ensuring seamless workflow and efficiency.

This position provides administrative support within the Department of Military Science. This position will assist the Assistant Professor of Military Science and Recruiting Operations Officer with the administrative requirements for the processing and enrollment of Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (AROTC) prospects to contracted cadets within the program. These responsibilities will include non scholarship, scholarship, Reserve Forces and active duty prospects interested in our program. In addition this position provides reception and operational support for the Department of Military Science. Normal office hours would be from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years of full-time administrative support experience in a professional office environment
Experience protecting and maintaining confidentiality of information
Knowledge of a Windows Operating System
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (especially MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to learn how to reference Cadet Command Forms and Regulations in order to manage and develop cadet actions within the office
Ability to learn and use university systems for procurement, purchasing card reconciliation, and managing budget/spend

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Effective interpersonal skills
Effective oral communication skills
Experience working in a college or university academic office
Willingness to engage with Catholic and Marianist educational values
Any experience in marketing and writing
General knowledge of HTML is preferred but not required
Experience within the US Army Cadet Command and an AROTC unit
