Join the University of Dayton Research Institute's cutting-edge Autonomy Systems division and help shape the future of autonomous technologies! As a Senior Computer Engineer, you'll work on groundbreaking research projects that directly impact national security, aerospace innovation, and emerging autonomous systems.
This position will be responsible for a combination of technical implementation, technical leadership and business development duties related to developing, maintaining and deploying all aspects of computer systems related to remote sensing and imaging platforms. This may include writing and testing software in high level languages; writing and testing logic in hardware description languages; developing and testing signal processing algorithms from concept to implementation; and performing systems integration and testing for technology maturation.

Minimum Qualifications: |
1. Bachelor's Degree 2. 8 years of demonstrated, successful experience developing and deploying software applications using object oriented languages such as C++, Java, or similar 3. Successful experience with modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Netbeans, Visual Studio, Eclipse, or similar 4. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen and cannot hold dual citizenship 5. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
1. Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science 2. Demonstrated experience developing or maintaining software for autonomously controlling UAVs and similar platforms 3. Demonstrated experience working within the AFSIM simulation environment. 4. Demonstrated, successful experience programming in algorithm level languages such as Matlab/Simulink, Python or similar 5. Demonstrated, successful experience developing software to communicate and exchange information (e.g. commands, status, data) with hardware devices, sensors, and/or systems 6. Demonstrated, successful experience installing, configuring, and working in Windows and Linux environments 7. Demonstrated, successful experience developing software applications specifically designed for use in multi platform (e.g. Windows and Linux) environments 8. Demonstrated, successful experience with source code version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or similar 9. Demonstrated, successful experience with software development practices such as Agile, Scrum, or similar 10 . Demonstrated, successful experience developing software that incorporates open, non proprietary, standards such as STANAG, OMS/UCI, SOSA, or similar 11. Demonstrated, successful experience with field experimentation, flight testing, data collection and analysis, to include operating in and around manned and unmanned aircraft 12. Active SECRET clearance or higher
