Position Summary:

Join the forefront of innovation at the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI), where cutting-edge research meets real-world impact. Our Advanced Manufacturing division seeks a talented **Additive Repair Engineer**.

Position Summary: This position will support the Additive Repair Technologies Group in the Advance Manufacturing Division. The position will serve as a repair engineer for the CS technologies group developing test plans, reports, and repair procedures. The successful candidate will understand cold spray repair, equipment, and repair set-up and pre- and post-processing. This role will build and execute material test matrix on cold spray as well as assisting in developing novel testing methods. The majority of work will support government customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Materials or Chemical Engineering or related engineering field)
• 2 years of experience working with Design of Experiments
• A minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience is required at the R2 level
• Proven ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
• Proven experience in processing cold spray samples for metallurgical analysis
• Working knowledge of materials testing standards and procedures
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software and ability to generate drawing in accordance with ASTM Y14.5
• Experience with Solid Works PDM
• Proficient in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering field).
• Master’s degree (Materials Engineering)
• 6 years of experience with creating and executing component and system level validation and qualification test plans, as well as analysis of test data and results
• 3 years’ experience with Solidworks 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience with process documents generation for quality standards such as ISO9001 or AS9100
• Effective interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated at all levels of an organization
• Self-motivated & organized with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills
• Experience in technical writing and technical proposal documentation and creation
