Position Summary:

Help transform university operations through collaboration, innovation, and technology! The University of Dayton invites qualified candidates to apply for our Senior Business Analyst openings!

The Senior Business Analyst will serve as the product expert and primary liaison between University business units and the technical configuration of our ERP platform. Drawing on firsthand experience with the operation of the units they support, this position will partner with the units to transform and modernize, leveraging modern cloud functionality to eliminate manual workarounds and streamline operations. The BA will drive the functional success of the assigned modules, ensuring the system is not only technically sound but intuitively aligned with the unit's daily mission.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Discovery & Strategic Design
* Lead deep-dive sessions with business units to document current business processes, extract true business needs vs. "the way we've always done it."
* Identify opportunities for business process improvements for the future state. Use the ERP’s native "best practice" workflows to simplify complex university policies.
* Determine where the system meets requirements out-of-the-box and where creative configuration or custom development is required.

2) Hands-on Configuration & Development
* Perform hands-on setup within the ERP, including business process definitions, condition rules, and functional security roles.
* Collaborate with developers to provide clear specifications for integrations, data conversions, and custom reports. You speak both "user" and "coder."
* Build and demonstrate "Proof of Concept" configurations in the Sandbox environment to show business units how their future workflows will look.

3) Testing & Quality Assurance
* Develop comprehensive test plans and lead Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
* Identify, track, and resolve functional bugs. Ensure that a change in one module doesn't break another.

4) Implementation & Change Leadership
* Create user-friendly documentation, "job aids," and video tutorials. Lead "train-the-trainer" sessions for departmental power users.
* Play a critical role with cutover planning, go-lives, providing "hyper-care" support to ensure business continuity during the transition.
* Post-implementation, monitor system releases and suggest new features to keep the university at the forefront of ERP technology.

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Business, Finance, CS, or a related field OR five years of relevant professional experience
2) Proven experience configuring an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), including rules, workflows, etc.
3) Ability to influence stakeholders and lead them toward "standard functionality" rather than customizing the system
4) 5+ years of experience as a BA or Functional Lead in a Higher Education ERP environment
5) Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
6) Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
7) Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1) Master's degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Business, Finance, CS, or a related field
2) Demonstrated experience with having difficult conversations and building consensus
3) Experience working with cross functional teams
4) Effective interpersonal skills
5) Effective time management and organizational skills
6) Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace

Special Instructions to Applicants:

To apply please submit a cover letter addressing each minimum qualification and any applicable preferred qualifications that you meet.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The University does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position.
