| Position Summary: |
Help users discover the unique archival collections at the University of Dayton Libraries. As Archival Collections Specialist you will organize and describe collections as part of the Special Collections team. Learn more about the position and apply!
This position will support the management and discoverability of archival collections within the University Libraries. They will process physical and digital archival materials, provide research assistance to users, and contribute to daily operations for Special Collections.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor’s degree Experience processing archival collections, including rehousing, arrangement and description Experience with archival management software such as ArchivesSpace or a related program Excellent organizational skills Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives Strong time management skills necessary to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines Proficiency with Google or Microsoft or similar office tools including spreadsheets, email and calendar Excellent written communication skills

| Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
College level courses in a field related to the strengths of the Special Collections such as English, History, Religious Studies, or Art History Experience with web archiving tools such as Archive-It, Conifer or the Wayback Machine Excellent oral communication skills Customer service experience Ability to solve problems with an attention to detail Articulated ability to support the University of Dayton’s commitment to the principles of our Catholic and Marianist mission
