Position Summary: |
UDRI seeks qualified individuals to work on multiple aspects of Open System Architectures (OSAs) on Air Force funded research. Three total positions exist, each with its own technical emphasis (Software, Hardware and Data Modeling/MBSE), all focused on advancing the state of the art in Air Force OSA. Those in these positions must have solid technical background in their respective fields, must be adept at technical writing and documentation, be willing to travel as necessary to support Technical Working Groups, and participate fully in regular interactions with others in the appropriate subcommittees. |
Minimum Qualifications: |
1. Bachelor’s Degree 2. Three years of experience with modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and software compilers on Windows and Linux platforms 3. Ability to travel 4-6 times per year, for 3-4 days at a time 4. Demonstrated ability to produce high quality technical documentation 5. Due to the nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required 6. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position

Preferred Qualifications: |
Software Working Group Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science 2. Demonstrated successful experience developing software using C, C++ and/or Java 3. Demonstrated, successful experience integrating disparate software and hardware systems from multiple vendors, into heterogeneous systems-of-systems 4. Prior experience working with software open standards, especially Department of Defense (DoD) standards
Hardware Working Group Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology 2. Demonstrated successful experience working with electrical and electrical/mechanical hardware interfaces 3. Thorough understanding of hardware standards including VITA and OpenVPX
Data Modeling Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science 2. Demonstrated successful experience working with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as MagicDraw or Enterprise Architect
