Position Summary: |
This position will be located at UDRI’s Dayton, OH facility. The technical project manager will report to the sustainment materials engineering group leader, and will support materials engineering for sustainment technology transition, including additive manufacturing, cold spray, and applied corrosion technologies. Duties will include preparing technical briefings, reviewing test plans and reports, ensuring work requests and purchase orders for characterization and testing are in conformance with established requirements and associated standards, tracking support lab and third party service provider metrics, and assisting in establishing and monitoring project timelines and budgets. The technical project manager will assist in aligning team tasks toward effectively and efficiently meeting contract deliverables, while ensuring smooth integration with design, manufacturing, and other operations and project management teams. |
Minimum Qualifications: |
1. BS degree in relevant engineering field (such as materials, chemical, aerospace, metallurgy, polymer) 2. 3 years of directly related experience with material characterization and property development including method selection and/or development, data collection and analysis 3. 3 years of directly related experience in technical project management 4. Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills 5. Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and presentation skills with coworkers and clients at all levels 6. Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team 7. Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications: |
1. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 2. Experience in metallurgy, microstructural evaluation, grain size, phase fraction, percent porosity, etc. via optical microscopy, XRD, SEM, or other methods as necessary 3. Experience with polymer and/or polymer matrix composite analysis, mechanical test methods, and property development 4. Experience with additive manufacturing 5. Agile or scrum master certification or training 6. Demonstrated self-motivation with ability to work with minimal supervision 7. Working knowledge of US Air Force policies and procedures 8. Active US Security Clearance
