Preferred Qualifications: |
Demonstrated proficiency with microbiological and biomolecular techniques, such as recombinant protein engineering and expression, small molecules/peptides/protein purification and protein characterization. Experience with transformation and cultivation of non-model microorganisms such as environmental yeast and bacteria, and photosynthetic bacteria/algae. Previous research in molecular and environmental microbiology with use of bioreactors/fermenters for scaling up synthetic biology products and FPLC approaches. General understanding of next-generation DNA sequencing, and bioinformatics. Other beneficial skills include familiarity with genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics, and Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) platforms. Demonstrate high motivation, innovation, critical thinking, and capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a high-performance R&D laboratory environment. A record of R&D accomplishments that include peer-reviewed publications and other technical writings in molecular biology is preferred. Experience in bioengineering with process scale-up and purification optimization for biologics and biosynthetic molecules is a plus.
