| Position Summary: |
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accountant II will perform complex accounting functions, including designing and performing ad hoc analyses, developing and maintaining complex data models, analyzing large data sets, and reconciling complex accounts. This position will also recommend, assist, test, or implement process streamlining, system improvements or work flow changes. |
| Minimum Qualifications: |
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5 years of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
• Ability to interpret and apply advanced accounting knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences
• Intermediate proficiency in business applications, such as Google Suite and Microsoft Excel

| Preferred Qualifications: |
• Advanced degree – MBA, or related advanced degree or CPA, or related certifications
• Experience in higher education fund accounting or other complex not-for-profit entity
• Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP
• Experience with Cognos report writing
