| Position Summary: |
The University of Dayton is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, multiculturally focused, and community centered therapist to serve in the Counseling Center. The Multicultural therapist position prioritizes working with students from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic populations including Black/African American, Latinx, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Multi-racial, and other students of color. The Multicultural therapist provides culturally affirming mental health services including initial consultations, brief, focused individual counseling, psychotherapy groups and workshops, single-session interventions, crisis appointments. This position is the primary liaison with the University’s Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center (MEC) on campus. This position will also work with Counseling Center Leadership to assist with improving the Center's ability to meet the needs of historically underrepresented racial and ethnic populations and reduce stigma of mental health services.
The Counseling Center actively contributes to the university’s holistic approach to mental health and suicide prevention through integration of the UD Stepped Care Model. The ideal candidate for this position will hold strong ethics regarding client confidentiality, and will also serve as a generalist and help students who present with a wide range of clinical presentations. Candidate must be available some evenings and weekends to best serve students. Further, a commitment to understand and support the University of Dayton’s distinctive Marianist tradition and educational vision, as well as a willingness to model institutional values of service to others, community, and diversity are imperative.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
• Current clinical independent licensure in Ohio as a Psychologist or Masters Level Practitioner (or within one year for out of state licenses).
• Maintain license throughout duration of employment
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of the mental health needs and concerns of a college-aged population
• Possess active experience in crisis intervention within a university setting
• Demonstrate experience and commitment to facilitating groups, including process, psycho-education, and support groups
• Demonstrate experience working collaboratively with various constituents
• Articulate passion for promoting holistic wellbeing and enhancing student learning
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
• Excellent written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work on an on-call basis as a part of a 24/7 crisis response system that may require the person to respond to campus or a hospital/mental health facility after hours
• Flexibility in implementing outreach programming during business hours, the evenings, and weekends to best meet student needs

| Preferred Qualifications: |
• Experience and commitment to providing services to diverse student populations including, but not limited to, BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, international students, and veterans.
• Demonstrated experience working with students from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic populations, in clinical work and in outreach/other programming.
• One or more years working in a counseling center, or similar setting, that serves college students;
• Experience using Titanium software and/or a comparable Electronic Medical Records system;
• For Masters level practitioners, supervision designation
• Capacity to independently manage a variety of tasks with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
• Demonstrated integrity, dependability, sound judgment, and resourcefulness to establish and maintain collaborative, positive, and effective working relationships with multiple constituency groups
• Proven success working with a range of culturally and ethnically diverse populations, and evidence of commitment to fostering equity, inclusion, and a collaborative multicultural environment
• Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, service in leadership, and balanced lifestyles, while possessing exceptional verbal communication skills, enthusiasm, positive attitude, and be a self-starter with the ability to instill the same in others.
