Position Responsibilities:
|
- Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool and remove old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch to prepare surfaces for painting;
- Fill nail holes, cracks and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler;
- Select pre-mixed paints, or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors;
- Paint surfaces using brushes, spray gun or paint rollers. Simulate wood grain, marble, brick or tile effects. Apply paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects;
- Prepare and cover interior walls and ceilings of rooms with decorative wallpaper or fabric;
- Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level. Keep work areas neat and clean;
- May provide instruction and guidance to Painter’s Helper;
- Perform duties assigned as a member of the Fire Brigade;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
