Position Summary:      

Yeshiva University’s Institutional Advancement Department seeks an Alumni Affairs Associate to play a key role in the cultivation of alumni. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media engagement and has a finger on the pulse of the latest trends and outreach techniques. This position will manage social media and website content, handle general departmental inquiries, oversee departmental inventory, manage alumni data, and do other tasks to support the department as assigned. This position will report to the Director of Alumni Engagement and requires a combination of strong computer skills, extreme attention to detail, creativity, strong writing skills, and the ability to think outside the box while also being a team player who can carry out tasks in a timely and precise manner.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Social media engagement: create content for the YU Alumni social media platforms, explore and execute new strategies for alumni engagement, and be responsible for social media posts and engagement, including collaboration with other departments. 
  • Manage other communication content, including email communication, Class Notes, alumni website, and monthly e-newsletters. Manage, collect, and update information for the newsletter and assist in developing content that supports our alumni engagement priorities.
  • Front-facing Alumni Relations: manage the Alumni Affairs phone line and email address, providing information and support to alumni and directing them to further resources; manage the Alumni ID process and liaise with the Security Office
  • Manage YU swag inventory, including exploring new methods for inventory distribution. 
  • Provide support where needed for planning and executing meaningful alumni engagement experiences, including substantive programs, professional networking events, and reunions, among others
  • Data Integrity and management: working in collaboration with the Operations team to manage alumni data, provide updates, pull reports and lists, merge accounts

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Experience using and managing social media platforms 
  • Experience creating social media content 
  • Experience and proficiency with Excel 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Understanding of current and emerging social media trends: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok 
  • Ability to create content for these and other social media platforms 
  • Ability to grow social media engagement 
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to write engaging content that is grammatically correct

Salary Range

$31.32 - $32.97 per hour
