Position Summary: The Yeshiva University Office of Residence Life oversees the Yeshiva University residence halls and hundreds of students who live within these residences. The mission of our office is to house, support and enrich the lives of our residents in line with our University values to foster a holistic student experience at Yeshiva University.
The Residence Life Coordinator will be a hands-on team member who will serve as the first point of contact in our office, ensure the orderliness of our office operations, and provide basic support to our Residence Advisors. The Residence Life Coordinator will be available to help support residents, problem solve challenges as they arise, and maintain the highest possible standard of customer service. They will gain competencies in the following areas: leadership skills, communication skills, teamwork, program execution, organizational management, event planning, marketing, and problem solving. A position in our office provides an opportunity to gain valuable professional skills, working with great people in a fast-paced, fun environment.


Position Responsibilities:  The Residence Life Coordinator will focus on the following areas of responsibility:
  • Service as a first point of contact to help students in Residence Halls with their daily needs, especially new students as they acclimate to life at YU.
  • Work with YU staff and Residence Life student leaders to help support important Residence Life events and programs such as Move-in and Move-out each semester.
  • Interface with other YU departments / offices, such as Dining Services, Events Office, IT Dept, Security Dept, Torah Studies, and staff of other university areas.
  • Help support the Dean of Students, their office and broader needs from the Dean of Students office.
  • Help students receive their mail on a regular basis.
  • Support the ongoing services of our office by providing regular upkeep and storage of our supplies, such as moving bins.
  • Help keep students aware of important information by designing and posting notices around the residence halls.
  • Help create and support Residence Life initiatives such as Room Showcase competitions.
  • Help support student leaders (Resident Advisors, or RAs) in their programming by ensuring the successful stocking and storage of supplies, as well as their ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Assist in answering the general Residence Life e-inbox and phone line.
Experience & Education Background:
  • College degree.
  • Preferred candidates will have strong familiarity with Yeshiva University Residence Life services, ideally a YU graduate.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills/attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy, front desk service-oriented setting.
  • Competency with technology, graphic design and Microsoft Excel strongly preferred.
Salary Range:

$20 - $20 per hour
