Position Summary:
|
The STEM Internship and Employer Relations Manager takes the lead in recruiting, developing, and organizing STEM graduate internships; developing employer relationships that lead to jobs for STEM graduate students; and supporting the professional development of STEM graduate students. This role is pivotal in ensuring that STEM graduate students have a successful transition from academia to the professional world and that the school delivers on its promise to students. |
Position Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
Internship/Job Placement:
- Maintain an updated database of internship and job postings relevant to our graduate programs.
- Facilitate the internship and job application process, including resume referrals, interview scheduling, and offer negotiation support.
- Track internship and job placement rates and outcomes, providing reports to assess program effectiveness.
Employer Relationship Management:
- Develop commitments for jobs and internships.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse network of employers across various sectors, focusing on industries relevant to our STEM graduate programs (computer science, data analytics, cybersecurity, digital marketing, biotech, etc.).
- Proactively reach out to potential employers to identify internship and job opportunities aligned with our students' skills and career goals.
- Coordinate employer information sessions, career fairs, and on-campus recruitment events.
Professional Development:
- Research and stay informed about emerging industry trends and employer needs.
- Develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives to enhance student career readiness and employability.
- Collaborate with faculty advisors to integrate career development into the academic curriculum.
- Collaborate with academic departments to align career development initiatives with curriculum objectives.

Experience & Educational Background:
|
Education:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., higher education administration, career counseling, human resources) preferred.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in leading internship programs, employer relations, and similar areas.
- Proven track record in building relationships with employers and facilitating successful internship and job placements.
- Demonstrated experience working with graduate students or professionals in tech/science fields.

- This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to attend career fairs and networking events.
- The STEM Internship and Employer Relations Manager should have a passion for helping students achieve their career aspirations.
- Familiarity with technology tools and platforms used in the tech industry is a plus.
