Position Summary:
|
The Assistant Registrar supports the Cardozo School of Law Registrar in managing all aspects of the Office of the Registrar at Cardozo School of Law, including student registration and recordkeeping, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of student and institutional records, compliance with all relevant state and federal laws and regulations, and reporting to relevant institutional stakeholders and state bars. The Assistant Registrar works closely with the Registrar, deans, and faculty to enforce academic policy and also provides support to all Yeshiva University Offices of the Registrar.

Position Responsibilities:
|
Records
- Responsible for maintenance, security, and accuracy of all student academic records for the Cardozo School of Law. Administers processes and procedures for student records management, archiving, and destruction in collaboration with the Cardozo Registrar and compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
- Performs all Registrar services for students and faculty, including but not limited to schedule creation and maintenance, student registration, transcript processing, grade processing, transfer credit evaluation, graduation audits and conferral, processing of bar forms and student requests for information, and duplicate diploma requests.
- Manages compilation, recording, verification, and dissemination of all data related to student enrollment, curriculum, academic progress, and grades to relevant constituencies within the University and state and federal accreditation agencies.
- Assists the Office of Student Services each semester with the preparation for final examinations, including preparation of class rosters and compiling student data files for uploading to Examsoft.
Registration
- Creates and maintains the course schedule in Banner and assists the Registrar with the lottery registration process and subsequent reporting
- Sets up and maintains waitlists during the add/drop period
- Registers students for permission required, exchange program, and first-year courses
- Troubleshoots registration issues for students and faculty
- Assists the Registrar with updating registration materials and the Office of the Registrar's website
- Acts as a liaison to other institution partners to facilitate cross-listing and registration of jointly offered courses.
Other
- Assists in the supervision of clerical staff and manages the office in the absence of the Registrar
- Responds to departmental inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Performs testing in various systems such as Banner, DegreeWorks, BDMS (Document Management) and Argos
- Creates and maintains process manual for the Office of the Registrar

Experience & Educational Background:
|
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
- Candidates should possess at least 3 years of experience in a college or university administration setting (preference given to candidates with experience in a law school Registrar’s Office)
- Experience in academic records management, curriculum administration, academic scheduling, and student services
- Knowledge of FERPA and other relevant federal and state laws
- Knowledge of Student Information System Software
- This position requires occasional travel and support to all Yeshiva University campuses, including the Wilf, Beren, and Resnick campuses.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word required
- Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, strong analytic and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize work, and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines
- Skill in the use of computerized student information systems (preference given to candidates with experience in Banner)
- Knowledge of law school academic and graduation requirements and eligibility for bar admissions preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both university and law school administrators
- Ability to provide excellent customer service with the ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $67,000
