Position Summary:      

YUHSB is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School History Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in history education and a commitment to fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and a love for history among students. This role requires engaging lesson planning, effective classroom management, and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging and interactive lesson plans that align with state and national curriculum standards.
• Teach history courses, including U.S. History, World History, and/or other specialized history subjects as assigned.
• Foster an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and projects, providing timely feedback.
• Utilize a variety of instructional methods and technology to enhance learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

Experience & Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Prior teaching experience at the high school level preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Passion for history and education, with the ability to inspire students.
• Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom.

Salary Range:

$55,000 - $65,000
