Position Summary:       

The JSS program is a vibrant undergraduate Torah studies program that runs from 9:00 am-1:00 pm for students interested in studying the foundation of Jewish texts and beliefs under the guidance of friendly and engaging faculty.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Teaching load of at least 10 credits per semester
  • Ability to teach a wide range of Jewish subjects in an engaging manner, breaking down the basic information in a way that is both interesting and clear to a beginner learner
  • Spend time mentoring students and should be able to understand their specific challenges and situations
  • Expected to be available and reachable by students after teaching hours, coordinate shiur events and meetings with students one-on-one to offer spiritual guidance
  • Attend periodic faculty meetings

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Rabbinic Ordination
  • Experience teaching young adults

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in preparing daily lectures on topics of Halacha, Gemara, Tanach, and Hashkafa
  • Charismatic personality and able to connect well with others
  • Experience with counseling/mentoring of young adults
  • Team player and able to collaborate with colleagues
