Position Summary:

Yeshiva University announces its proposed new DDS program and is hiring a new faculty and staff to support the school. The curriculum will integrate Digital Dentistry techniques to be taught by today’s dental thought leaders and master clinicians. The school plans to provide a unique 36-month dental education program through an innovative “Block” style curriculum which will ensures in-depth learning and understanding. The Director of Clinical Technology is responsible for the technical architecture, management, and ongoing development of the dental school’s Patient Management System (PMS) and associated clinical technologies. This role ensures that the clinical technology infrastructure supports patient care documentation, student clinical education, simulation laboratory activity, and comprehensive clinical record management.
Working closely with the Dean, clinical leadership, and university IT, the Director of Clinical Technology oversees the implementation, configuration, and continuous improvement of clinical technology platforms used within the dental school. This includes ensuring that the PMS reliably maintains patient records, clinical procedures, images, and student clinical experiences. The Director will also oversee the development and ongoing enhancement of a mobile or web-based application that integrates with the PMS to support efficient access to clinical data and student records.
This position is critical to the successful operation of the dental school’s clinical infrastructure and ensures that technology effectively supports patient care, student training, and institutional data management.

Position Responsibilities: 

Clinical Technology Leadership

  • Serve as the primary technical authority responsible for the architecture, management, and performance of the dental school’s clinical technology environment.
  • Provide strategic oversight for the Patient Management System (PMS) and associated clinical technologies used in patient care and clinical education.

Patient Management System Administration

  • Oversee the configuration, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the dental school’s PMS.
  • Ensure the system supports accurate management of patient records, treatment documentation, imaging data, and clinical procedures.
  • Maintain system reliability, performance, and data integrity across all clinical environments.

 

Clinical Data and Student Record Management

  • Ensure that the PMS accurately maintains records related to:
    • patient treatment and procedures
    • student clinical experiences
    • simulation laboratory procedures
    • procedures performed on live patients
  • Support the tracking and management of student clinical requirements and educational documentation within the system.

Application Development and Integration

  • Lead the development of a mobile or web-based application that integrates with the PMS to support clinical and educational functions.
  • Ensure that the application allows efficient access to clinical records, student activity data, and imaging information.
  • Continuously update and enhance the application to support evolving clinical and educational needs.

System Integration and Technology Infrastructure

  • Design and manage integrations between the PMS and related technologies, including imaging systems, academic platforms, and institutional IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure seamless integration of clinical data, images, and procedural records across systems.

Technology Maintenance and Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Implement system upgrades, enhancements, and technology improvements as clinical and educational needs evolve.
  • Ensure that clinical technologies remain current and aligned with modern dental education practices.

Vendor and Technical Partner Coordination

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with PMS vendors, imaging vendors, and technology partners.
  • Coordinate software updates, system maintenance, and troubleshooting activities with vendors and internal IT teams.

Data Security and Compliance

  • Ensure that clinical systems comply with institutional policies and applicable healthcare data privacy and security requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate safeguards for patient records, clinical documentation, and student educational data.

Collaboration with Clinical and Academic Leadership

  • Work closely with the Dean, clinical leadership, faculty, and IT teams to ensure that clinical technologies support both patient care and student education.
  • Provide technical guidance on system capabilities, enhancements, and digital infrastructure planning.

 

Experience & Education Background:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related technical field.

• Minimum of five years of experience managing, designing, or supporting enterprise technology platforms, clinical information systems, or complex software environments.

• Demonstrated experience working with integrated technology platforms, including system architecture, API integrations, or enterprise application environments.

• Experience supporting or developing systems that manage large volumes of structured data, records, or digital documentation in regulated or highly controlled environments.

• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining complex multi-user systems, including system performance, reliability, and issue resolution.

• Familiarity with data security, access controls, and compliance requirements related to regulated systems (e.g., healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries).

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.

• Experience implementing or integrating enterprise platforms, including healthcare, clinical, life sciences, or other regulated technology systems.

• Experience designing system integrations using APIs, middleware, or data exchange frameworks across multiple platforms.

• Experience working with imaging systems, data repositories, or other technology platforms that manage complex digital records.

• Experience supporting platform development, system modernization, or application development that integrates with enterprise systems.

• Experience working within regulated environments requiring audit controls, data integrity, and system validation.

 

Skills & Competencies:

Clinical Technology Architecture - Advanced understanding of system architecture and platform design supporting clinical technology environments.

System Integration and Application Development - Ability to design and manage integrations between enterprise platforms, databases, and custom applications.

Clinical Data Management - Understanding of how clinical and educational data are stored, accessed, and maintained within healthcare technology systems.

Technical Problem Solving - Strong ability to diagnose system issues, coordinate with vendors, and implement effective technical solutions.

Security and Compliance Awareness -Knowledge of healthcare data security practices and regulatory considerations affecting clinical technology platforms.

Collaboration and Communication - Ability to work effectively with clinicians, educators, technical teams, and institutional leadership.

Continuous System Improvement - Commitment to maintaining modern, reliable, and efficient technology platforms that support clinical operations and education.

Salary Range: $260,000-$260,000
