Yeshiva University announces its proposed new DDS program and is hiring a new faculty and staff to support the school. The curriculum will integrate Digital Dentistry techniques to be taught by today’s dental thought leaders and master clinicians. The school plans to provide a unique 36-month dental education program through an innovative “Block” style curriculum which will ensures in-depth learning and understanding. The Director of Implantology provides senior academic and clinical leadership for a comprehensive implantology program within a newly established dental school. This is a distinctive faculty role that combines curriculum design, clinical education, and patient care oversight to ensure that implant dentistry is taught as an integrated component of comprehensive oral healthcare. The Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously evaluating an implantology curriculum that is vertically and horizontally aligned with biomedical sciences, restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery.
Through coordinated didactic and clinical instruction, the Director ensures that students acquire the knowledge, clinical judgment, and technical skills necessary to competently participate in implant treatment planning, surgical and restorative workflows, and long-term maintenance of implant patients. The role emphasizes evidence-based decision-making, patient safety, ethical care, and outcome assessment within an academic clinical environment.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Education, the Director of Implantology collaborates closely with course directors, clinical leadership, and interdisciplinary faculty to integrate implantology across the predoctoral curriculum and clinical care model. In addition to overseeing clinical training and patient care standards, the Director establishes educational and clinical protocols, supports faculty calibration and development, and promotes scholarly activity related to implant dentistry. This position plays a formative role in defining the school’s approach to implant education and contributes to the preparation of graduates for contemporary general dental practice.

| Position Responsibilities: |
- Program Development and Oversight: Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the implantology curriculum, emphasizing clinical competency and integration with other areas of dentistry
- Integrated Didactic and Clinical Instruction: Provide coordinated didactic and clinical instruction in implantology using mastery-based, evidence-driven teaching approaches that actively engage learners and integrate biomedical science principles into patient-centered implant, prosthodontic, and restorative care
- Clinical Training and Supervision: Oversee clinical training in dental implant procedures, providing guidance to students and faculty on case selection, treatment planning, surgical placement, restorative workflows, and long-term maintenance
- Patient Care and Quality Assurance: Establish, implement, and monitor clinical protocols for implant treatment to ensure patient safety, quality outcomes, and consistency with academic clinical standards
- Clinical and Educational Documentation: Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation of implant-related patient care, learner performance, and instructional activities in accordance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Faculty and Student Development: Mentor and support faculty and students in implantology, providing education, calibration, and resources to promote consistent teaching, clinical excellence, and professional growth
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, and comprehensive care teams to integrate implantology into interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient care
- Research and Innovation: Support and promote research and scholarly activity in implantology, integrating emerging evidence, technologies, and best practices into clinical education and patient care
- Compliance and Safety Standards: Ensure implantology education and clinical practices comply with institutional policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations

| Experience & Education Background: |
- DDS/DMD or equivalent degree from a CODA-accredited institution
- Certificate from a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Program in Periodontics
- Board Certification by the American Board of Periodontology (ABP)
- Eligibility for dental licensure in New York State
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Periodontics, including patient care, academic teaching, and curriculum development
- Demonstrated experience in clinical education support, faculty practice oversight, and compliance with CODA and institutional accreditation standards
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FERPA, OSHA, and laws/regulations pertaining to the practice of dentistry in New York State
