Position Summary:

Torah Tours is a longstanding Yeshiva University initiative, entering its 52nd year, that brings groups of YU students to Jewish communities for Simchat Torah. The program creates meaningful connections between students and communities while giving students an opportunity to represent Yeshiva University, share Torah, and build relationships across the broader Jewish world.


The Torah Tours Project Coordinators will co-lead the planning and execution of the program. Working closely with Rabbi Ari Rockoff, the Coordinators will oversee communication with participating communities and students, manage the application and matching process, and help ensure that each group is thoughtfully assembled and well prepared for a successful Simchat Torah experience.


The primary focus of the role will be student recruitment and engagement. The Coordinators will be expected to bring fresh energy and creativity to outreach, beginning around orientation in mid-August and continuing through the application period. This may include campus outreach, tabling, targeted communications, outreach through student leaders and alumni, and other recruitment strategies.


The Coordinators will have access to existing Torah Tours promotional materials and will help identify opportunities to strengthen recruitment, communications, and program infrastructure through thoughtful use of available resources and targeted budget requests.

Position Responsibilities: 
  • Co-lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Torah Tours program.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for participating Jewish communities regarding applications, logistics, program expectations, and follow-up.
  • Manage community and student application processes, communications, reminders, and participant tracking.
  • Recruit approximately 80–100 Yeshiva University students and 20–25 participating Jewish communities.
  • Develop and implement student recruitment strategies through campus outreach, orientation events, tabling, communications, and collaboration with student leaders.
  • Manage and strategically utilize existing Torah Tours promotional materials and recommend additional swag within the program budget.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen communications, marketing materials, outreach strategies, and program infrastructure.
  • Maintain and improve communication templates, tracking systems, and program documentation for future use.
  • Assist in identifying and coordinating student ambassadors, alumni participants, or other student leaders as needed.
  • Review applications and thoughtfully match students with participating communities.
  • Coordinate participant assignments, logistics, communications, and required materials leading up to Simchat Torah.
  • Maintain organized records, timelines, communication lists, and tracking documents.
  • Utilize existing program materials while contributing improvements and updates.
  • Work with the outgoing coordinator during the transition period to ensure continuity and successful onboarding.
  • Administer post-program surveys and evaluations for students and participating communities.
  • Participate in post-program assessments and planning discussions to evaluate outcomes and recommend future improvements.
Experience & Education Background:
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and follow-up tasks.
  • Familiarity with Yeshiva University students and campus life.
  • Experience with student engagement, event planning, or program coordination is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when working with students, community representatives, and program partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and leadership.

Salary Range: $30.00- $30.00 per hour
