Central (Yeshiva University High School for Girls), in Queens, NY, offers a rigorous and innovative academic program that highlights best practices of education to inspire our students to become life-long learners.
Central seeks an experienced Learning Specialist to join our Learning Center for a full-time position for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Position Responsibilities:
|
- Work with identified students in both General and Judaic studies with both push in and pull out models
- Review IEPs and create appropriate learning plans
- Communicate and meet with classroom teachers on a regular basis
- Ensure that individual student modifications are addressed
- Maintain close contact with students and families
- Design education plans for specific students
- Develop curriculum for test-taking, study skills and organizational strategies
- Participate in the Central Student Accommodations Committee
- Provide staff development, on a case by case basis or school-wide, as requested by the Head of School
- Work with outside service providers
- Serve as a liaison between Central, College Board, ACT and CSE
- Create a positive, innovative, student-based learning environment
- Participate in co-curricular school activities outside the classroom
- Motivate, encourage and inspire students to love learning and to excel to the best of their abilities
