Rate of Pay:

This is a Full-Time Support Staff position at grade 13, with an annual salary range of $47,571 to $63,428. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this class performs work of moderate difficulty by providing event planning services to both internal and external clients. Work is distinguished by the ability to complete an event from inception to completion and effectively communicate with clients and vendors. Direction is received from the Manager of Facilities Rental.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  2. One year of planning conferences, meetings, and events.
  3. One year customer service experience.
  4. One year sales and marketing experience.
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook) and use of the Internet.
  6. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  7. Certificate or willingness to obtain a food service sanitation.
  8. Working knowledge of accounting principles.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Previous experience using point of sale systems (e.g. POSitouch).
  2. Previous experience using a database.

Essential Duties:

  1. Coordinate events and activities, including but not limited to communication with clients, catering request, security requests, billing, certificate/proof liability insurance, proposal writing, menu planning, audio visual arrangements, room set-up/tear-down and maintaining the event calendar.
  2. Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, and resolve prblems that arise.
  3. Compile and balance receipts and prepare invoices/revenue logs for department operations.

Other Duties:

  1. Work a flexible work schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends/holidays.
  2. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
