This is a Full-Time Administrative position at grade 16, with an annual salary range of $72,417 to $96,556 The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:
|
The Surgical Technology Program Director is an administrative position responsible for the organization, administration, periodic review, continued development, and general effectiveness of the Surgical Technology program.
|
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in healthcare, education, management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Hold a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
- Have a minimum of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
- Have a minimum of two years teaching experience and demonstrate proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning.

Essential Duties:
|
- Develops, implements, and evaluates the strategic plan, program outcomes, curriculum, and overall effectiveness of the SGT program.
- Maintains the SGT D2L website for online/hybrid instruction.
- Develops, implements, and coordinates the SGT program admission policy and procedure.
- Hires and supervises FT & PT faculty. Advises academic and clinical faculty on curriculum changes, course objectives, and evaluation procedures. Evaluates faculty and clinical instructors teaching effectiveness through classroom observations and student reviews.
- Establishes didactic and clinical schedules in conjunction with faculty and clinical affiliates. Develops clinical performance evaluation tools for the SGT program. Recruits healthcare agencies to serve as clinical training sites. With the assistance of the Dean/Associate Dean negotiates clinical affiliation agreements. Monitors students and staff acting under these agreements.
- Teaches in the SGT program. Observes student performance in the clinical setting when necessary.
- Manages the SGT student lab on campus.
- Maintains CST competency through attendance at conferences and continuing education events.
- Maintains program accreditation through ARC/STSA. Produces ICCB program review reports.
- Selects and purchases equipment, supplies and educational materials for the SGT program
- In conjunction with the Dean develops an annual budget for the SGT program and monitors program expenditures.

- Participate in professional development activities related to the field.
- Participate in division and College-wide committees and events in order to support the mission of the College.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
