Job Summary:
|
Adjunct teaching faculty provide instruction aligned with the college's strategic goals and evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals. This particular position is to provide adult basic education students with the additional basic skills support they need to be successful in a CTE course. |
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
Bachelor's degree in the discipline or in a related discipline One year of teaching experience in the discipline or a related discipline
|
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
Previous experience either 1) teaching an IET/ICAPS course or 2) 1 year teaching in ICCB adult education.
|
Essential Duties:
|
Deliver Instruction 1. Conduct assigned classes 2. Prepare lessons 3. Provide course syllabus 4. Verify student enrollment and submit grade and attendance sheets
Evaluate Student Progress 1. Keep accurate record of student performance 2. Provide students with timely feedback
Provide Student Assistance 1. Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication 2. Refer students to student support services 3. Accommodate special needs students

Other Duties:
|
Audit CNC courses to learn content and skills needed to support adult education students in the ICAPS program. Collaborate with CNC instructors to identify areas where students need additional support. Develop basic skills lessons contextualized to CNC environment, including reading and math. Review vocabulary and content presented in CNC courses.
