Work Schedule:

Monday thru Friday, 8am-5pm, flexible

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade IT/Legal 214 with a minimum of  $58,575. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of considerable difficulty to develop, test and implement software solutions on a variety of technical platforms. Work is distinguished by the ability to troubleshoot and resolve application software and data problems. Direction is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university with a minimum of four years technical programming experience in a comparable technical environment using some combination of Ellucian Envision/Studio, Ellucian Elf, Unidata, SSMS, Informer, SQL, Excel, Access, FTP, .Net/C#, Javascript/Powershell, SQL Server or comparable technologies or equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Considerable skills in programming and testing.
3. Considerable skills in verbal and written communication.
4. Considerable skill in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Publisher
5. Considerable skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
6. Considerable skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.
7. Working skill in interpersonal interaction to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
8. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
  1. Prior work experience at a college.

Essential Duties:

  1. Research software/service options, create detailed system designs, develop (code), test, document, and implement software solutions to satisfy the needs of end-users.
  2. Work with software/service providers, network, desktop or other application technical staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems; make necessary changes to software applications or database data to resolve or clean up any issues.
  3. Work with end-users to clarify requirements/issues; enhance functionality of existing software and/or develop new applications.
  4. Coordinate with end-users the preparation of test data and organization of testing schedules to assure quality, accuracy and cost-effective performance.
  5. Provide basic user documentation and/or initial user training on new applications.
  6. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certifications
  7. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
  8. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
  9. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
  10. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality

Other Duties:

  1. Provide technical assistance or mentor any new, existing or consulting technical staff.
  2. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  3. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
