Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 14 with a minimum of  $23.83. Hourly rate offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy,  and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty by creating multimedia content that communicates relevant messages aligned with the college’s mission, vision, and strategy with a focus on enrollment marketing. Work is distinguished by producing high-quality, relevant video footage (e.g. testimonials, commercials, etc.) that complements campaign themes, aligns with the college brand, and supports institutional priorities, departments, and other staff. General supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Film/Videography, Media Arts, Digital Communications, or in a related field with a minimum of five years of full-time, professional video production experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  2. Good knowledge of the role of video and digital storytelling in marketing (especially within the context of integrated marketing campaigns) and how to adapt techniques to various target audiences and mediums.
  3. Good knowledge of the design, use and maintenance of specialized equipment including lighting, audio, and DSLR cameras.
  4. Good knowledge of current post-production techniques and editing skills, andcurrent software including but not limited to editing (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) sound editing (e.g. Audition), special effects (e.g. After Effects), and graphic design (e.g. Adobe Suite).
  5. Considerable skills working as a member of a creative team and independently to develop video concepts that complement a larger campaign theme while remaining true to brand guidelines.
  6. Considerable skills in technical production and project management in order to shepherd the video production process from concept through final delivery.
  7. Considerable skills to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  8. Considerable skills interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  9. Considerable skills in working collaboratively  and coach video production participants to the needs associated with each project.
  10. Considerable skills in analyzing, developing, creating and innovating solutions that adapt current industry trends.
  11. Considerable skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  12. Considerable skills in photography, asset management and related skills.
  13. Considerable skill in interpersonal interaction to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
  14. Considerable skills in verbal and written communication to a variety of audiences.
  15. Considerable skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.
  16. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Demonstrated experience within higher education and/or non-profit organizations.

Essential Duties:

  1. Responsible for producing high-quality video footage, choosing quality shots, and assembling the footage into a coherent viewpoint to tell a story. Duties include collaborating with other team members and cross-departmentally about storylines, viewing and making logs of raw footage, trimming and splicing footage, and adding sound effects, special effects, and music.
  2. Responsible for developing the look, feel, and content associated with broadcasting video in a variety of settings ensuring footage is on-brand and aligned with strategy. May also be responsible for editing and disseminating the media product in required formats.
  3. Responsible for creatively coordinating the mood, tone, style, and appeal of creative campaigns to ensure the creative is supporting the institution’s brand and strategic priorities. This role helps guide how ECC differentiates itself from other competing institutions so that ECC’s brand is recognized and relevant by target audiences in the community. In working with the graphic designers, videographer, and photographer, the Multimedia and Creative Coordinator will review and assess the competitive landscape, create mood boards, and organize a plan for how the creative execution aligns with artistic design and other visual and audio elements for radio, TV, publications, advertisements, websites, social media, and other printed and digital visual communications.
  4. Film on-campus classroom learning, student services initiatives, events, interviews, commencement, and off-campus interviews, events, and other institutional needs to support various departments including Teaching, Learning, and Student Development.
  5. Creates and designs sophisticated animations and motion graphics used in advertising and promotional efforts to impact enrollment and build brand awareness. Uses various methods to communicate the organization’s efforts through an assortment of digital design technologies.
  6. Maintain equipment to ensure location and condition logs are accurate and manage and maintain an on-site library of the college’s video assets.
  7. Provide back up to the Electronic imaging specialist/college photographer when needed but not limited to photography at college events and proficiency with the college’s digital asset management system.
  8. Provide support to the college in the event of a campus crisis (additional duties as assigned).
  9. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certifications
  10. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
  11. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
  12. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
  13. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
