Work Schedule:

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday

Rate of Pay:

This is a Full-Time Support Staff position at grade 15, with an annual salary range of $63,042 to $84,056. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of considerable difficulty providing technical training and user support for Distance Learning faculty, staff and students. Work is distinguished by the ability to provide faculty with technical support in designing/developing online, hybrid, and Web-enhanced courses, and administer Central Management System (CMS). Direction is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Education or other related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Considerable knowledge of a learning management system.
• Working knowledge of instructional design.
• Considerable skill in developing courses that are technology-enhanced, hybrid, or fully online.
• Considerable skill in the development of learning environments utilizing online technologies and working with Subject Matter Experts.
• Working skill in HTML and CSS.
• Working skill in developing and maintaining positive and professional relationships with internal and external customers.
• Considerable skill in written and verbal.
• Skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Masters degree in Instructional Technology or related field.
• Working knowledge of a union environment preferred.

Essential Duties:

1. Provide general support to instructors in instructional development, instructional design, and media materials and implementing pedagogy for technology enhanced environments.
2. Administer the LMS, trouble shoot technical issues and provide support and training to all instructors, students, and staff; coordinate the user management of the LMS
3. Support and assist students, instructors and members of the community on a daily basis to questions and issues related to online, hybrid, and enhanced courses, and technology in the classroom.
4. Provide workshops and online learning opportunities for instructors and students related to the LMS, and other distance learning and technology topics, including pedagogy and technology in online and traditional learning environments.
5. Test, evaluate, recommend, implement, and pilot new and emerging technologies that enhance learning.
6. Collaborate and cooperate with Center for the Enhancement of Teaching Assessment and Learning (CETAL) in the planning, designing, promotion, teaching of educational technology workshops, and demonstrations developed for instructors using technology to enhance learning.
7. Participate in departmental strategic planning, including its function, operation, and budgetary issues, departmental improvement and expanding services.
8. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certification
9. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
10. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
11. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
12. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality.
