Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 217 with a minimum of $88,800. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty by implementing technology projects college-wide, ensuring consistency with the strategic plan. Work is distinguished by the ability to produce IT project analytics and reports and to keep the college’s eldership informed. Direction is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with a minimum of 5 years of technology leadership experience in enterprise systems, applications, project management experience in an Information Technology environment and managing IT staff or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  2. Project Management Certification
  3. Considerable knowledge of the implementation of large IT projects
  4. Considerable knowledge of major ERP system implementation and upgrades. (Ellucian Colleague preferred)
  5. Considerable skills in using project management tools
  6. Considerable skills in technology project planning, estimating, scheduling, tracking, budgeting, and reporting using industry-standard project management methodologies
  7. Considerable skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  8. Considerable skills in delegating work to, motivating and training a technical staff.
  9. Considerable skills in analysis, problem-solving and decision-making regarding issues related to the scope of position.
  10. Considerable skills in written, verbal and interpersonal communication with the ability to work, partner and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Considerable skills in Microsoft office.
  12. Considerable skill in developing and maintaining positive and professional relationships with internal and external customers from diverse populations.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Considerable knowledge of Ellucian Colleague.

Essential Duties:

  1. Provide project management oversight to all technology projects college-wide. Define project charter, scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management, analysts, and stakeholders. Direct, coordinate and manage all technology project development from beginning to end. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Develop and deliver progress reports, project analytics, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  2. Works in collaboration with the Managing Director to provide overall leadership, vision, and oversight of all applications from inception through implementation and support. Leads manage, directs, and assigns direct reports on team’s tasks and priorities for projects of all sizes. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identify, resolve and communicate issues and conflicts within the project team and staff.
  3. This position assumes shared responsibility for critical business applications and/or automated processes for all college departments including HR, TLSD (i.e., Student Services, Curriculum, etc.), Institutional Research, Financial Aid, Business and Finance, Marketing, and Communications along with Information Technology.  They direct the application development and maintenance staff by providing leadership and mentorship to help streamline and automate processes and workflows.  Manage project priorities, assigned projects, and deadlines.  Provide timely feedback on the status of projects.  
  4. The Director leads the analysts meeting along with the Managing Director to provide directions, and detailed updates on Technology projects and to coordinate those projects amongst the analysts and IT.
  5. Attend meetings related to systems and technology projects to evaluate strategic directions for campus-wide information systems and various application platforms.
  6. Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  7. Represent Information Technology on various internal planning and advisory committees as assigned.

  1. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  2. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
