| Elgin Community College seeks an adjunct music instructor to direct the college’s concert band, which rehearses one evening per week during the fall and spring semesters. In addition to teaching responsibilities for the ensemble class, the faculty member will coordinate the following ensemble specific responsibilities:
- Select and arrange repertoire appropriate for the ensemble’s skill level and educational goals.
- Prepare and conduct weekly rehearsals and present a minimum of one public performance each semester.
- Maintain and organize the ensemble’s music library and equipment inventory.
- Prepare the rehearsal space and ensure all necessary materials and equipment are available.
- Collaborate with ECC Arts Center staff to schedule performance dates and secure venues.
- Work with ECC Arts Center marketing staff to develop promotional materials and create printed programs for performances.
- Monitor and assist with planning the ensemble’s budget, including music purchases and equipment needs.
- Organize recruiting activities and outreach efforts to attract new members from the college and community. |
