8AM - 5PM  M-F

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 13 with a minimum of  $47,571 and a midpoint of $63,428.  Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy,  and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty related to the procurement function of the College. Work is distinguished by the ability to perform technical purchasing activities, including drafting of commodity specifications. General supervision is received from the Senior Director of Business Services.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
2. Minimum 1 year purchasing experience
3. Proficient knowledge of purchasing systems
4. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
5. Good knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or similar ERP system and ImageNow document imaging system or similar imaging system.
6. Ability to integrate, utilize and manage multiple computer programs to facilitate the procurement process
7. Maintain a high degree of accuracy and integrity while working in a highly regulated and confidential environment
8. Ability to comprehend and utilize procedural and institutional information
9. Ability to resolve procurement issues thru evaluation and analysis with innovative thinking
10. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
11. Must be analytically oriented, forward thinking, and able to bring recommendations to the management team
12. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
13. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
14. Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with all levels of College personnel while promoting a positive working environment
15. Ability to work in cross-organizational work groups to accomplish goals
16. Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Purchasing experience in higher education preferred.

Essential Duties:

1. Analyze and review requisitions from assigned departments, using Colleague computer system, for accuracy and budgetary compliance/noncompliance with established administrative and financial procedures.
2. Creates purchase orders daily
3. Orients new College personnel in use of Ellucian Colleague requisition system to ensure compliance of College procedures.
4. Create formal requests for quotation under $25,000
5. Prepares contractual documents and proposals related to purchases for review as directed by manager
6. Coordinate the ITB/RFI/RFP/SOQ processing.
7. Analyzes and reviews purchasing card statement and receipts
8. Assist in asset sales
9. Maintain databases

Other Duties:

1. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
2. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
