Work Schedule:

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 212 with a minimum annual salary of $49,995 and a mid-point of $66,660. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty by monitoring and completing requests received by the web team service desk. Work is distinguished by the ability to design and develop creative content such as interactive media, images and graphics plus UI solutions to enhance appearance of sites. General supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a minimum of two years of web design or development experience designing and programming for the web or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Considerable knowledge of usability, user experience, and integration design, techniques, standards and software.
3. Considerable knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts, practices and procedures, development of modern, accessible, user interface design and client-side scripting.
4. Working knowledge of CMS systems
5. Working knowledge of multimedia software required.
6. Working knowledge of aspects of web design and development including, coding, functionality, taxonomies, testing and troubleshooting.
7. Good knowledge of Mac and Windows operating systems, Adobe Creative Suite, YouTube editing tools, PDF remediation software and Jira.
8. Good knowledge of design as it relates to WCAG Accessibility standards.
9. Some knowledge of technical Search Engine Optimization techniques and best practices.
10. Working skills in HTML/CSS/JavaScript
11. Working skills in the implementation of libraries such as JQuery
12. Considerable skill in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access and Publisher
13. Considerable skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
14. Working skill in interpersonal interaction to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
15. Working skills in verbal and written communication.
16. Working skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.
17. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

Essential Duties:

1. Complete prioritized customer(s) requests in a timely manner.
2. Proactively make sure content is up-to-date and consistent throughout and recommend site improvements and enhancements.
3. Execute assigned functions related to major web site redesigns, implementation of new technologies and prototyping concepts, as directed by the immediate supervisor and monitored by senior web developer and UX designers.
4. Coordinate with other team members on projects, and meet with clients as needed to ensure client needs are met in a manner consistent with web standards.
5. Work collaboratively with photo and video staff for optimal multimedia presence on web site.
6. Design and develop creative content such as interactive media, images and graphics plus UI solutions to enhance appearance of sites.
7. Respond to and fix bugs and errors; test and improve site UI.
8. Perform unit testing at the page level,
9. Conducts audits, optimizes content, and addresses tickets from the website governance software to continuously improves the site; takes steps to ensure student data and the college’s systems are secure at all times; collaborates on UI/UX research projects, as needed.
10. Provide limited CMS support to all departments.
11. Supports the Digital Accessibility Developer on maintaining web standards, as outlined in WCAG.
12. Provide training and create required content documentation to ensure the college’s best practices are followed.
13. Supports the Digital Project Manager on reporting, creating documentation and tracking of projects, as needed.
14. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certifications
15. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
16. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
17. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
18. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
