Job Summary:

The student will be in charge of the Languages Lab. The purpose of the student worker is to: 1) maintain foreign language students’ attendance in the lab; 2) assist them in using the hardware and software provided; 3) assist foreign language students that are struggling with the language platform that is used in Spanish classes; and 4) help students to improve their speaking skills in Spanish.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Bilingual (Spanish/English speaker). Basic level of MS Word and Excel.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ideally should have taken intermediate Spanish at ECC (SPN 201, 202) or a similar class at another college.

Essential Duties:

1.  Keep track of the students that come in an out the language lab in an excel spreadsheet that will be on the student worker’s desktop.

2. Provide the students with the Chrome books that will be stored in the lab. Supervise the students and make sure they are using the Chrome books and/or the computer(s) that are in the lab correctly

3. Help lab students that are having difficulties with the language platform that is used in Spanish classes.

4. Assist lab students that are preparing oral presentations. Help them to improve their pronunciation and conversational skills.
