Hours vary and may include day, evening and weekend responsibilities. Discussion course component is taught in a campus classroom. Clinical course component is taught off campus. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.

Job Summary:
|
Adjunct teaching faculty provide instruction aligned with the college's strategic goals and evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.
|
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
- BSN or higher
- Be a registered nurse with a minimum of two years of nursing experience.
- Have one year of experience as a nurse in one or both of the following areas: i) Teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program; or ii) Providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or for chronically ill adults.
- Each instructor shall also provide documentation of completion of a Department-approved specialized workshop, course, seminar or other approved training for instruction in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias equivalent to 4 CEUs.

Essential Duties:
|
Deliver Instruction
1. Conduct assigned classes and/or labs
2. Prepare lessons
3. Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information)
4. Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets
If a lab is involved:
5. Prepare labs
6. Enforce lab safety procedures
Evaluate Student Progress
1. Keep accurate record of student performance
2. Provide students with timely feedback
Provide Student Assistance
1. Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication
2. Refer students to student support services
3. Accommodate special needs students
