Schedule:

We hope to have your support for up to four hours each week. Monday and/or Wednesday afternoons.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are delighted to share the opportunity to work with Matt, a 38-year-old Madison resident with Down Syndrome. We are seeking individuals looking to work with diverse populations or planning to work in Special Education. Matt is a very independent individual but would rely on your support to be present and coach him with various activities, including but not limited to the following: 

  • Volunteering at local food pantries
  • Pulling and processing library books
  • Assisting at area grade schools

All activities will be arranged by Matt's mother, Nancy. 

Matt lives just west of the UW-Madison campus next to Wingra School (just off of Monroe). His residence is very accessible via multiple bus routes along Monroe St. 

Expected hourly rate of $20-25 depending on experience. 

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Transportation to and from arranged activities (all will be accessible via public transportation)

Preferred

  • Experience in caregiver settings
  • Experience with diverse populations
  • Interest in working with special needs population
