Summer 2025.  Schedule will be made by Pool Manager.  Pool is open 7 days a week.  Manager is expected to work a minimum of 32 hours per week.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for aquatics and team management?  Seminole Pool and Tennis Club is seeking a motivated Pool Manager to oversee daily operations at our facility for the 2025 season.  This role offers an exciting opportunity to create safe, fun, and welcoming environment for our guests while leading a team of lifeguards, instructors, and support staff.  Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Assure the safe and efficient operation of the pool, including compliance with all state statutes and health department regulations

  • Supervise all personnel, including:

    • reviewing applications 

    • conducting interviews

    • in consultation with Board Personnel Chair, selecting staff for season

    • communicating hiring decisions

    • developing and updating position descriptions and employee handbook 

    • seeking and acting on employee feedback

    • evaluating employee performance

    • offering and conducting exit interviews

    • in coordination with Board Personnel Chair, completing disciplinary actions

  • Supervise grounds and facilities, including:

    • maintaining necessary certifications

    • managing pump operations and chemical balances

    • communicating regularly with Assistant Manager – Scheduling and Grounds about the upkeep of facilities

  • Control financial tracking and reconciliation

    • overseeing concessions ordering 

    • documenting all expenditures and reconcile weekly with Treasurer

    • ensuring the security of all cash

    • devising and implementing concessions inventory tracking 

    • reviewing concessions sales data and recommending changes

  • Maintain records, including:

    • employee records (work permits, W-2s, etc.)

    • supply ordering and inventory, including item, vendor, purchase date, and cost

  • Conduct trainings, including:

    • leading staff inservices

    • certifying and recertifying guards

    • instructing assistant managers and head guards on pump house operations

  • Communication

    • presenting monthly report to Board

    • implementing rules of conduct for staff and pool users

    • receiving and acting on member feedback

    • receiving media inquiries and forwarding to Board President

    • connecting weekly with Swim/Dive Chair and Head Coach to ensure seamless integration of team activities with other pool needs

    • interacting with vendors as needed

    • routinely updating Board chairs, such as Personnel or Grounds, regarding needs

    • providing year-end report to President, summarizing pool use data, effectiveness of programs, revenues and expenditures

  • Operate in a positive, professional manner at all times.

  • Devise an equitable and sustainable rotation for manager and assistant managers presence at facility (100% coverage is not expected)

  • Other duties assigned by the Board

Qualifications:

Current lifeguard and CPR certification is needed.  Past experience working at pools is a plus.

Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
