Position Summary/Job Duties:

This is a part-time, hourly opportunity to join a department within an evolving and innovative soccer training facility and contribute to inspiring confidence and a love for the sport at a very young age. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about soccer, enjoy working with children, and are looking to create awesome and meaningful experiences for children as they learn and develop.

Role Scope & Responsibilities:

  • Soccer Instruction: Teach energetic, engaging, and fun class sessions to children aged 18 months to 7 years old in a structured manner following TOCA Kids curriculum.
  • Skill Development: Assist players in improving their soccer skills through progressive drills and exercises tailored to the skill level of each age group.
  • Game Play: Organize and lead age-appropriate soccer activities to apply the skills learned during classes.
  • Safety: Ensure the safety of all participants by following safety guidelines, monitoring for injuries, and maintaining proper first-aid supplies.
  • Motivation and Encouragement: Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere, fostering a love for the sport while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with parents, providing updates on players' progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Equipment and Field Maintenance: Assist in setting up and maintaining the kids classes field space and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for training sessions.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary administrative tasks, including attendance records, evaluations, and any other paperwork required by program leadership.

  • Work with leadership to create and maintain a unified culture as well as a high level of engagement throughout the center.

Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and experience playing or coaching soccer.
  • College level club soccer playing experience is preferred
  • Experience working with children in a sports or educational setting, demonstrating patience and the ability to motivate and engage young athletes.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and fellow coaching staff.
  • Passion for creating an inviting and welcoming environment that aligns with TOCA Soccer Training's values.
  • A genuine interest for soccer and a desire to share this enthusiasm with young players.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Availability to work afternoons and weekends, as most youth soccer classes take place during these times.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, and stand for long durations of time.
  • Ability to move and lift equipment and supplies of 30+ pounds.
